Update: Brissie punk mates WAAX will now join Wolf Alice as support on their national tour.
North London quartet Wolf Alice have just announced they will be bringing their unique brand of shoegaze grunge to our stages later this year. Having already graced our shores back in Jan and Feb for this year’s Laneway Festival, they are set to play headline shows in NZ and up the East Australian Coast in September.
Following the release of their second album Visions Of A Life late last year, 2018 has already been a big year for the band, who have been busy supporting Queens Of the Stone Age and playing their own headline shows in the US. They will soon be kicking of a string of huge support slots, accompanying both the Foo Fighters and Liam Gallagher across the UK and Europe respectively. They will then be heading our way to treat fans in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland to their high energy live show.
Despite not having played a full headline tour here before, Wolf Alice are no strangers to Australian crowds, playing Falls Festival in 2014 and Splendour the following year. It’s no surprise that they have amassed a huge local following, with a back catalogue boasting both dreamy and effortlessly catchy pop tunes (“Don’t Delete The Kisses” and “Beautifully Unconventional“) and high volume rock bangers (“Yuk Foo” and “Giant Peach“).
