Huge news has dropped this morning via suburban Perth popstar turned unstoppable force and global fascination, Troye Sivan. Known for releasing a true continuum of coming-of-age bangers, the 20-year-old has announced his first ever full-blown Aus and NZ tour hitting up all capital cities and a handful of regional towns.
Since the release of his debut album ‘Blue Neighbourhood’ (which has just been certified gold in Australia) and is certified legendary by four million YouTube subscribers, Sivan has gone from zero to somewhere past four million in over a year. But it’s pretty obvious that the world is fascinated by this guy, IRL. Teens (everywhere) resonate with his empowering message of self-love and admission, the foundations of his lyrics, his music and his independently produced online videos. Impressively, his late night television debut last December was performing ‘YOUTH’ on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He later performed on The Ellen Show, and more recently delivered a pretty endearing skit on James Cordon’s The Late Show.
To coincide with the good news, Sivan has dropped his third single ‘Talk Me Down’ lifted from Blue Neighbourhood. Produced by Emile Haynie (Lana Del Ray, Kayne West, Bruno Mars) and Bram Inscore (Little Boots, The Heir), ‘Talk Me Down’ is another youthful jam placed within a catalogue of fuzzy and emotional anthems.
Fittingly, Sydney vocalist and electronic-pop songwriter Nicole Millar will also be in support. Blue Neighbourhood tour kicks-off in July, Frontier Members pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday 14 April (12noon AEST/ 2pm NZST). General public on sale from 4pm local time, Monday 18 April.
