Soothsayer is thrilled to share yet another diamond from ALTA with their captivating new single ‘Sentiment’. To celebrate, the Melbourne duo will be heading off on a headline tour this November and December around the country stopping off in Perth, Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne.

Premiering on i-D earlier today, ‘Sentiment’ is an intricate dance track, gentle yet unapologetic. The track is beautifully paced, rising and falling in energy as Hannah Lesser’s vocals leave you struck. Though words of self-assurance, the track tells a story of self-actualisation reminding the listener to value yourself for who you are and that you are enough.

“Sentiment is a song about unraveling lies and being confident in accepting the truth. It’s the internal process you go through at different times in your life when you need to stand by who you are and have self-assurance in choices you’ve made. Sometimes you just have to cut the toxic things out of your life and know that you are enough. It’s also about expectations. What people choose to share with you about their life, especially online, can slowly warp your ideas of how things “should be like”. You gotta filter that out.” – Hannah Lesser

ALTA have firmly planted in the underground Melbourne music scene and continue to garner a strong following nationally and overseas. Their single ‘Fix It’ released in June marked a step up for the duo, pushing the parameters of their sound. It saw airplay on triple j, receiving local and international pick up and fully backed by influential Spotify playlists.

2017 has seen the duo develop an arresting live performance gracing stages at Sugar Mountain, Let Them Eat Cake and Splendour In The Grass. ALTA have also supported Kilter and ABRA on their Australian tours, ruled BIGSOUND with four showcases and sold out a NGV Friday Nights for Dior headline spot.

ALTA close out an incredible year with the release of their stunning new track ‘Sentiment’ and a string of headline shows. Don’t miss out!
