Late last week the band announced a colossal worldwide tour, which will now kick off with two v-special shows in New Zealand before returning to Australia for an East Coast headline tour, and then venturing to the United States and Europe.
The new soulful direction and a production techniques delivered as ‘Million Man’ has came from an unlikely collaboration with Run The Jewels producers Wilder Zoby and Little Shalimar, who the band met at 2013’s Laneway Festival. This year then saw the New York brothers return to Australia to The Ruben’s newly created recording studio – a WWII communications bunker in Sydney’s outskirts – where they lent their chunky sound to The Ruben’s delicious melodies.
The Rubens have also just returned home from NYC where they put the final touches on the album and captured some outtakes to create a neat little video for ‘Million Man’ – which acts as a visual love letter to Brooklyn.
Next year will mark The Rubens’ highly anticipated third album, which they’ll be sharing throughout the tour. Frontier member pre-sale begins Thursday, 7 December from 12noon AEDT/2pm NZDT. All tickets on sale Monday, 11 December.
