Taylor Swift has added a third and final Melbourne show to the Australian leg of The 1989 World Tour, making her the first artist to perform three concerts at AAMI Park. Your last chance to catch Swift in Melbourne goes down on Thursday 10 December – her first two dates at the venue are sold out. There will be no more concerts added to her Australian tour.
It’s another massive achievement for the star, who’s no stranger to breaking records. She is the only artist in history to have three albums sell more than a million copies in their first week of release – 1989 (2014), Red (2012) and Speak Now (2010) – and was the only artist in 2014 to have two singles take the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart, dethroning her own smash hit ‘Shake It Off’ with its follow-up ‘Blank Space’.
In addition to chart success, Swift has received seven Grammy Awards, 16 American Music Awards and 22 Billboard Music Awards and is the youngest recipient of the Grammy for Album of the Year, the Country Music Awards’ Entertainer of the Year and Billboard’s Woman of the Year.
Support at all Australian shows comes from Melbourne singer/songwriter Vance Joy, who’s currently touring with Swift through the US.
