Sugar Mountain Unveil Huge Culinary Line-Up

With any festival, normally it’s a pretty good idea to familiarise yourself with the bands that are scheduled to play. With Sugar Mountain, we fully endorse this, give everyone a real hot listen because you’re in for a brilliant treat. Yet, we encourage you not to eat in the lead up to the festival, because holy shit there’s a culinary line-up worth fasting for.

From burgers to smoked brisket, rice paper rolls to gelato and all of the local brews and fancy cocktails in between, everybody should arrive thirsty because SM is going to deliver.

Featured venues include:
Biggie Smalls, it’s the place to find a ‘KBab, it’s real klassy. In an ode to Biggie Smalls, the options reflect the east coast/west coast rivalry. Our pick is the west coast monster: slow-roasted pork belly with maple-syrup hummus, pickled cabbage, sweet onions, hot sauce and mint. A one-handed banger. For the vegos in the club, Transformer Fitzroy will be providing the green-goods. Think spelt and seed steamed bun, crispy organic tofu, pickled cucumber and gochujang mayonnaise or catch everyone’s favourite hawker-style eatery, Hanoi Hannah, for their crisp salads and tuna and wasabi rice paper rolls.

For the big-timers needing the big-time fuel, the burger at Leonard’s House of Love wins the big-time trophy. It’s a double-handed commitment, which will give you life and make you weep, simultaneously. If you don’t mind a few more tears, grab a hold of some 12-hour Wagyu brisket and Burnt Ends provided by local legends turned American BBQ’ers and pit-smokers, Meatmother. Tears of joy. Belleville will be bringing the different kind of meat-treats, chicken, in the style of an enormous Brazilian-style rotisserie. Pretty sure that covers all food groups and dessert, which will be provided by the Italian gelato gods getting around in Billy Van Creamy.

Beverages, what’s good? For the black gold pick-me-up, that’s sometimes forgotten in festival environments, Everyday Coffee will make sure it doesn’t go ignored, offering the blurst of caffeinated drinks, hot and cold. If you’re more of a slave to the rave and enjoy a drop of the classic brew formerly know as liquid confidence, The Beaufort, everyone’s choice of dive-bar, will be on-site, armed with bottles of Jameson. A great weapon of choice. The masters behind local brewery Sample Brew will be popping-up shop formulating a brand new batch lager especially for SM, as well as pouring their pale ale, gold ale and other drops. The guys of mothership cocktail bar Black Pearl will also be in full swing, teaming up with Absolut to provide a top-shelf experience for the Executive Sweet ticket-holders. The drinks will be cold, the banter will be hawt.

And you know what, that’s not even it. Stayed tuned. Don’t eat.
