Austin rock legends Spoon have finally announced their long-awaited return to Aussie shores, performing two huge headline shows in March.
The last time Spoon were down under was in 2015, making their performances in Sydney and Melbourne their first in two years. The small string of shows will celebrate their highly-anticipated ninth studio album, Hot Thoughts, due out next month.
Forming in 1993, the band have been together for over twenty years and have an incredible archive of tracks lifted from a hugely successful slew of albums including Girls Can Tell (2001), Kill The Moonlight (2002), Gimme Fiction (2005) and Ga Ga Ga Ga (2007).
Hot Thoughts sees the band returning to label Matador, who released their debut Telephono in 1996. Sonically, Spoon continue to wander into uncharted territory. Title track ‘Hot Thoughts‘ has the band weaving in a mixture of pop-rock, psych, garage and irresistible rhythms.
