Violent Soho are back. Mansfield’s finest return in a big way with blistering new track ‘Like Soda’, debuted this afternoon by triple j.
The first taste of the band’s fourth album, which they’re currently recording at the Shed Studios in Brisbane with producer Bryce Moorhead (the same combo responsible for the game-changing Hungry Ghost), you can hear the full song above right now.
Singer Luke Boerdam says, “There’s no resolution in the song – it’s just describing a daze we’re all in,” as he references “empty summer afternoons in a RSL and pubs – when all the pokies are empty, beer is warm and there’s nothing but horse-race noise in the background.”
The band are celebrating with a quick East Coast run later this month with Palms supporting – they play the Zoo in Brisbane on Thursday 22 October, Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Friday 23 October and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Saturday 24 October. This will be the last chance you get to see Soho before they tear up Singapore, New Zealand and Australia as part of Laneway festival next year.
