Hailing from Philly and bearing the most meticulous blend of lo-fi indie-rock, young singer/songwriter Alex Giannascol aka (Sandy) Alex G has locked-in two debut Australian headline shows surrounding his performance at Laneway Festival.
Known for his intensely intimate songwriting and sensitive nature, Alex G will be sharing his eighth full-length record Rocket, which was released this May. The diverse yet cohesive body of work showcases a distorted document of harmonic-folk-rock featuring obscure jazz arrangements, squeaky string sections, filtered psychedelia and dream-like soundscapes. When performed live – the multi-instrumentalist holds down a mesmerising and visceral live set that is flawless and unguarded.
Invited to join the special shows is Lake Macquarie local Brightness who revealed his debut album Teething this year. A 9-track slice of bedroom whispers and diary entry intimacy featuring a cocktail of fuzzy, low-fi rock and angsty melodies. It’s the perfect compliment.
