Following the mega-loved and hugely successful release of UMO‘s third studio album Multi-Love, the Portland via New Zealand psychedelic outfit have released a brand new funk-tinged tune.
‘First World Problem’ explodes into huge jungle-jazz rhythm via a magical horn section and the instantly recognisable vocals of Ruben Nielson. The single levels into a pretty minimal instrumental groove, yet it still packs that signature UMO heat.
“I think ‘First World Problem’ is about modern love in a crumbling empire,” Nielson explains. “The feeling that you’re trying to build your life and get what you need while a decadent world falls apart around you.”
UMO are about to kick-off a huge European tour; we’re really hoping they bring their first world problems back to Aus.
