‘Cemetery‘ is an infectious and uptempo single despite it’s downbeat title.
“It’s actually about a relationship that felt like flirting with death; a heart-exploding kind of love that was dangerous and exhilarating but ultimately could never last. The song is deliberately pulling in two directions at once because that’s exactly how I felt at the time,” explains Missy.
‘Cemetery’ follows Missy’s gorgeous comeback single ‘Futon Couch’ and her converted role supporting Ed Sheeran’s mammoth Australian stadium tour, where she played to more than 1 million people and joined Ed onstage for a duet.
Next month, Missy will embark on her own headline tour celebrating the release of SOSTALGIA her first original album in six years. Joining Missy will be beloved Canowindra singer-songwriter Gordi, who released her debut album Reservoir last year. From melancholy piano chords and whispered counting to textured samples, she will build the perfect space ahead of Missy.
