Methyl Ethel – ‘Ubu’

After laying down a shimmering set at Sugar Mountain over the weekend, Methyl Ethel have shared a brand new track – ‘Ubu‘. The single is lifted from their highly anticipated album, Everything Is Forgotten, set to drop Friday, 3 March.

The song itself is a master of glistening indie-rock that feels like summer spewing from a drum kit. Alongside the single and it’s infectious and kinda strange chorus of, “Why’d you have to go and cut your hair?” is a wonderfully-wacky music video. The clip features tripped-out surroundings, stark buildings, a distorted band and the usual deadpan face swap.

If you grabbed a ticket to the Perth band’s sold-out headline tour in Feb, it means you’ll be the first to hear some of the new unreleased material from the upcoming 11-tracker.

In the meantime, you can pre-order Everything Is Forgotten and find tour info here.
