Dan Sultan today dropped ‘My Kingdom‘ feat. A.B. Original, the final track to be revealed from his collaborative EP, Killer Under A Blood Moon. Out today, the EP sees Sultan enlist the help of A.B., Meg Mac, Camp Cope and Dave Le’aupepe (Gang of Youths) to craft huge reworkings of tracks from his latest album, Killer.
‘My Kingdom’ sees the reuniting of Sultan and A.B. members Briggs and Trials, who have previously collaborated on track ‘January 26‘. With Sultan’s vocals and the piano part the only remaining elements from the original tune, ‘My Kingdom’ features completely new verses penned by the hip hop duo. Trials explained that the pair wanted to add their own versions of the kingdoms they grew up in, using personal stories to highlight “the underlying differences and similarities that make us all family”.
Handpicking artists from a range of genres to craft the EP, Sultan has breathed new life into four of Killer‘s biggest tracks. Recorded live at Red Moon Studios, Killer Under A Blood Moon gives each track a new dimension, Sultan describing the concept behind the project was to “show these songs from a different perspective.” The result is a diverse, genre spanning collection of tracks featuring some of the Australian music’s most exciting talent. It is now available for order here.
