Wolf Alice Name 10 Songs To Listen To Before Bed

In the lead up to the release of their wildly-anticipated sophomore album Visions of a Life, Ellie from indie-rock collective Wolf Alice has shared a lush little playlist to celebrate bed and the moments that lead to dreams. It’s a real assortment of songs as she’s named local legends King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard to Sharon Van Etten and drops in an unexpected one from Queens of the Stone Age.

Visions of a Life is out Friday, 29 September but you can get across a few sneak peaks including ‘Heavenward‘, the sweet garage anthem ‘Beautifully Unconventional‘, intricate crush masterpiece ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses‘ and fierce gut-puncher ‘Yuk Foo‘.

Sharon Van Etten – ‘One Day’

My brother showed me this song and it’s the first song I sought to learn how to play for a really long while.

Dean Blunt – ‘Imperial Gold’

You never know what dean blunts gonna come out with, I love this song.

Moldy Peaches – ‘Nothing Came Out’

One of the first songs I tried to cover with my mates at school.

Brian Jonestown Massacre – ‘David Bowie I Love You’

Love the riff in this song. Dig is one of my favourite movies.

Willis Earl Beal – ‘Evenings Kiss’

Love the simplicity of this tune and the focus on the lyrics.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – ‘Sense’

Love the production on this tune and the variety of songs this band come out with.

Micheal Kiwinuka – ‘Cold Little Heart’

Discovered this through the program Big Little Lies.

Sufjan Stevens – ‘Death with Dignity’

Quite hard to listen to this song without crying if you’re feeling a little vulnerable.

Slaves – ‘Steer Clear’

Love this tune from Slaves new album featuring Baxter Dury.

Queens of the Stone Age – ‘Lightning Song’

Nice instrumental from another normally quite heavy rock band.

You can also catch Wolf Alice performing exclusively at Laneway Festival this summer!
