Moving Pictures Reunite for New Album, Tour

Moving Pictures, one of Australia’s most cherished pub bands of the ’80s, are re-forming to record an acoustic album of some of their biggest hits and a few surprises. Titled Picture This, it will be released on October 9.

The group will launch it with a special live show at the Basement in Sydney on Wednesday 30 September.

Co-founder and guitarist Garry Frost says, “We have been busily reworking the songs with a few surprises including a very special cover, a stunning new tune and a song from a movie that we said we would never, ever play. We are all really looking forward to getting back out and playing.”

Moving Pictures shot to the top of the charts in 1981 with their Days of Innocence album, home to the mega-smash ‘What About Me?’.

The band split with a final live album, The Last Picture Show, released in 1988, but reunited in 2011 for a national tour to celebrate Days of Innocence‘s 30th anniversary.
