Midlake To Reissue Iconic Record ‘The Trials of Van Occupanther’

It’s been 10 years since American folk-rock legends, Midlake, released their instant classic album, The Trials of Van Occupanther. Like everyone else, the band love a good throwback and to celebrate the momentous occasion, they’ve released a 10th anniversary edition of the beloved album. The reissued version will feature a 180g gold vinyl, complete with a B2 pull-out poster, handwritten lyrics, previously unseen photos, as well as a bonus 7″ featuring two unreleased songs: ‘The Fairest Way’, and ‘Festival’. Better yet, they were both recorded prior to the original vocalist, Tim Smith’s departure.

The cover artwork was also given a face lift via Brian Lotti (aka pro skateboarder, film maker, and neo-impressionist painter) who reimagined the artwork into a fittingly flushed, hallucinatory painting.

The Trials Of Van Occupanther (10th Anniversary Deluxe Reissue) will be out October 28. ‘The Fairest Way’ should tide you until then.
