M.Ward Releases 8th Studio Album

M.Ward knows how to live with rain. Having spent the last decade-and-a-half based in the damp-ish conditions of Portland, Oregon, the singer-songwriter and producer has made a true gotta-stay-indoors, rainy-season record that manages to look beyond the weather while reflecting on his past.

More Rain is Ward’s eighth solo record, which is slightly faster in tempo and upbeat compared to A Wasteland Companion released in 2012. The record actually begins with the sound of a rainstorm, then builds with steady guitar riffs and Ward’s earthy vocal tones.

Ward is a longtime collaborator and recently told Myf Warhusrt in an interview for Double J, the difference between working with others and the pressures of producing solo material.

For long time listeners, More Rain is a welcomed addition to an impressive catalogue of emotionally-driven albums. For first time listeners, grab a blanket and choose your rainy day.

More Rain is out today via Bella Union / [PIAS].
