Just announced today and at the back end of her European tour, Lisa Hannigan will tour in what can only be described as an intimate string of shows in May.
Already gracing our shores for an appearance at Vivid LIVE in Sydney, the Irish singer will return to Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane as well the coastal town of Anglesea, Victoria.
Its been 3 years since we last laid eyes on Lisa though the folk singer first caught our attention back in 2004 touring with Damien Rice. She returned to us in 2014 supporting Glen Hansard but this will be the first solo tour for the Dublin songstress.
After playing support for Passenger for nearly two years, Lisa has come out with her third album ‘At Swim‘ which describes her struggles of a new relationship and dividing her time between London and Dublin. After being approached by The National’s Aaron Dessner, Hannigan recorded the album with Dessner over a seven day period in a New York church. The 11 track album is her most progressive yet while still maintaining the soft hues of her earlier work.
Supported by Devon singer, John Smith, the tour begins in Perth’s Fly By Night, Melbourne’s The Thornbury Theatre, Anglesea’s Memorial Hall and The Old Museum in Brisbane.
Tickets go on sale 9 am (AEST) on Thursday, 30 March.
