Can confirm –LCD Soundsystem will return to Australia and New Zealand to play their biggest headline shows ever this summer.
Following their sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne in July this year – the Brooklyn icons and legendary dance purveyors will return to share their wildly-celebrated fourth studio record American Dream – released in September, which marked first new music from LCD Soundsystem in seven years. Featuring new wave dance tracks ‘call the police’ and quirky synth-laden ‘american dream’ that will be performed alongside signature anthems ‘Daft Punk Is Playing at My House’, ‘Drunk Girls’, ‘I Can Change’ and ‘Losing My Edge’.
Joining the American 8-piece will be one of NY-based, Aussie producer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Murphy (FKA Chet Faker) so the line-up is AKA HUGE.
In May this year Murphy released a surprise EP Missing Link under his new moniker (and actual name) Nick Murphy, which saw the sonic shift between ‘Chet Faker’ to a moody and broody exploration into a deep dark dance sphere. The EP featured ‘Stop Me (Stop You)’ and ‘Your Time’ and since then, Murphy has revealed ‘Medication’ – the first taste of his highly anticipated forthcoming album, due for release in 2018.
Both artists are renowned for their spectacular stage productions and coupled with a couple of stunning outdoor venues – it’s going be a dream night.
