Ivy League’s most recent signing, Kyle Lionhart, has come off the back of a slew of sold out shows to drop a shiny new song, announce a whole EP of them and a secret launch show to celebrate.
‘Sweet Girl’ is a gorgeous coastal-soul track from the Byron Bay singer/songwriter and a very personal too.
“The song was inspired by a conversation I had with my father; he communicated how he may have approached the way he handled some of the more fragile and pivotal points of his daughters adolescence. If only he’d known what affect these moments would have later in her life & the worry that forever now he will be chasing that ‘Sweet Girl’, and the memory that fades with her,” explains Lionhart.
It follows ‘Call Back Home‘ a similarly infectious mixture of neo-folk and indie-soul that will also feature on Lionhart’s newly announced sophomore EP Eleven & Two – out Friday, 26 May.
Following the release, Lionhart will debut his EP at a secret, afternoon and all-ages EP launch show in Sydney, Saturday, 27 May. For those along the east coast, you can catch Lionhart play all new music when he supports Radical Face at the end of this month.
