JUST ANNOUNCED: A second Melbourne show for Julia Jacklin, Sunday 28 May, at the Corner Hotel.
Julia Jacklin has dropped word that she’ll play her biggest Australian headline stages to date this May.
The shows in Melbourne and Sydney come after JJ recently wrapped-up a successful Laneway Festival stint and they’ll follow a slew of headline shows in the UK, US and Europe this month including some yuge international festival appearances at Primavera in Barcelona, Field Day in London, Pickathon in Oregon and Down The Rabbit Hole in the Netherlands.
Featuring a fierce all-lady, alt-folk line-up, Julia will be joined by Melbourne’s own art-pop darling Jaala (both shows), who released her incredible alt-prog debut album Hard Hold in 2015 and Rough River, the project of local singer-songwriter Kate Skinner who revealed her new single ‘True Wild’ in January will also join the Melbourne gig at the Corner Hotel. Opening in Sydney’s Metro Theatre will be solo artist Elizabeth Hughes, who plays with Julia in Phantastic Ferniture and also hails from the Blue Mountains.
In case you missed it, for Jacklin’s latest clip, she returned home and threw down a flawless performance as a news presenter. “It seemed like the only place I could have filmed the ‘Coming of Age’ video, Springwood my hometown. I went and visited my old boss at the local Chinese Restaurant and got some shots of the Optometrist I worked at on the weekends. My younger Brother Eamonn makes his acting debut and I think he did a top job,” explains Jacklin.
Frontier Members will have access to pre-sale tickets from Thursday, 16 February before tickets go on sale to the general public on Mon 20 Feb. Find all the details on Julia’s tour page below.
