Jack River is among a fierce line-up for the first ever Electric Lady band night, launching in Sydney and Melbourne this June/July.
Holly Rankin (Jack River/Director of The Hopeless Utopian) has banded together with a powerhouse collective of artists including Alex Lahey, Ali Barter, Bec Sandridge and Gretta Ray to electrify women’s voices, guitars and rights. Presented by The Hopeless Utopian and Triple J, this multi-city night will hit Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Friday, 30 June and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Saturday, 1 July.
The surge of female empowerment won’t stop there – with the launch of the gigs comes Electric Lady World, an online platform designed to celebrate and inspire women. Interviews are already set with a range of inspirational women, from surfer Stephanie Gilmore to activist/actress Isabel Lucas, and astrophysicist Katie Mack.
Inspired by the women around her, Holly says “Girls are ready to amplify their talent alongside each other, and the world is ready for diversity in female role models.” Tickets to the inaugural Electric Lady nights go on sale Thursday, 13 April, 9am AEST.
