It’s been a whole year, but Melbourne band Husky, have come up for air and unleashed a fresh new tune derived from .
‘Late Night Store‘ comes after the pair (Husky Gawenda and Gideon Preiss) spent the better part of the year living, experimenting and surviving the nature of Berlin. The track reflects the blurred lines between reality, the time of day, the characters they met and the inspiration that followed.
“The truth is ‘Late Night Store’ came about through lots of drinking and confusion and heart ache and longing and ecstasy – all in the one night,” explains Husky Gawenda.
Sonically, it’s a striking blend of guitars and keys, held down by a steady groove, and toplined with refreshingly honest lyrics and swelling melodies.
Whilst based in Berlin, Husky played shows across the country and into Europe and the US, also performing at some of the region’s premier festivals.
To celebrate the release of ‘Late Night Store’, Husky will hit the road for their first national headline tour since 2014 bringing home an all new live show and set that includes unheard material performed for the first time. It’ll be worth the wait.
‘Late Night Store’ is taken from the duo’s forthcoming third record, due for release next year and it follows the band’s killer 2014 album, Rucker’s Hill which featured ‘I’m Not Coming Back’ and ‘Saint Joan’.
