Gordi Signs To Liberation Music

Today, 22-year-old singer/songwriter Sophie Payten, better known on the airwaves as Gordi, announced that she has joined local label Liberation Music alongside acclaimed company including The Temper Trap, Vance Joy, Mansionair and Emma Louise.

The Sydney-based artist has independently released a plethora of intoxicating singles including ‘Can We Work It Out‘, ‘Nothing’s As It Seems‘ and ‘Taken Blame‘ which have peaked on local and international charts and recognised world-wide by Hype Machine tastemakers.

From writing simple piano compositions and acoustic guitar chords in her uni-dorm room (she somehow fits in time to smash out a medical degree), to producing polished songs of swirling impact through organic synth and an elegant beat, she’s left everyone holding on for more, which isn’t far off.

Gordi’s debut EP “Clever Disguise” will be out in Australia and NZ on May 13 via Liberation Music, you can pre-order it here. You can also catch her at Groovin The Moo Canberra or warming up the stage for Of Monsters and Men in May. Welcome aboard!
