“Wake me up when September ends”, haunts us all. But Green Day have got it all wrong because Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival is back for a second year and they’ve answered your September tropical dreams with a stellar local line-up.
The bill dropped earlier today, and it’s full Australian treats. Featuring Matt Corby, the indie singer/songwriter who just released his second album, Telluric, recently finished up a v successful national tour and is now living the dream gallivanting the US. If you caught one of his local shows, you may have heard the angelic vocals of Vera Blue supporting him, she’ll be there, coming off the back of a recent sold out solo tour and EP release, and predictably more at the rate she’s going.
Dance duo, Client Liaison, will be there in all of their sequin, choreographed glory. FYI they’re touring nationally now, check it out. Our bois, City Calm Down, will be there to provide the deep groove. They’ve been hardout gigging locally and currently touring the UK, so they’ll be the finest of tuned.
Adeladians, Bad//Dreems, who are soon to take the stage supporting The Living End next month, are another addition to the Maroochy line up. Potentially with new music by September. Boo Seeka will also be heading back from living their best life travelling through Europe and playing a national tour before hitting up MMVAF.
As well as the certified tunes, there’s the promise of tasty edible food, couches in an ampitheatre, live street art, art installations and a No Dickhead policy. Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival will be held at Horton Park Golf Course (SunCentral Precinct), Maroochydore, Queensland on Saturday, 10 September 2016. Early bird tickets are already on sale for $80, but you can find all of the deets here.
