Our Highlights From Bigsound 2016

BIGSOUND was one giant barnstorm.
We were there to capture the rowdy, the raucous and the magical delivered by all-round legends DZ Deathrays, Gordi, MOSSY + Jack River.

Sydney Renaissance man and our favourite weirdo, MOSSY, shared his collection of poems, ballads and penciled anxieties, better known as his self-titled debut EP. He delivered an energy that was intoxicating and enthralling and more body rolls than a night spent a Cloudland.
Gordi followed, performing at the Coopers Brightside Outdoor Stage and kept the crowd intact. Playing previously released favourites as well as sneaking in some brand newies.
If anyone at BIGSOUND was crossed-armed, they weren’t at DZ Deathrays‘ blowout. An ear-melting, high-octane doozer of a set, which saw Ecca Vandal ambush the stage for a hectic cover of Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’.
Jack River showcased at I Oh You’s “annual kegger” at The Brightside on Wednesday night. She threw down her widely-loved debut single, ‘Talk Like That‘, and shared all new music from her hugely-anticipated forthcoming EP Highway Songs No. 2She made a lot of friends that night.
Until next year.
