Australia’s Most Promising Producer Willaris. K Is The Newest Artist To Join The Soothsayer Family
In extraordinary fashion, Willaris. K emerged onto the local electronic music scene last year like a mysterious tornado that was approaching with complete control.
Now, 23-year-old Willaris. K (Jack McAllister from rural NSW) is one of Australia’s most promising electronic artists and the newest precious member of the Soothsayer family – delivering a sagacious blend of moody electronica.
“We came across Jack’s music when one of our other artists; Dro Carey played it on his triple j Mix Up early last year and we were instantly taken aback. How could something so unique, so layered and considered be coming from an unknown entity under our noses? We scratched our heads wondering how a kid of 23 years of age could make such anthemic and destructive electronic music that would be at home in the world’s biggest clubs and festivals, having never stepped foot in the UK or Europe. It’s a feeling that only comes to you once in a blue moon.
“Once we saw him live, playing to a handful of people in Northcote on the support trail, we knew we had to make him a part of the family. He had the energy and army, both musically and physically, constantly reaching for the stars like some kind of answer would be found above him. This is Willaris. K and he is here to make everyone take notice. We certainly did.” – Chris Rigney (Soothsayer)
Having only shared two tracks into the world, Willaris. K is celebrated by his contemporaries, heralded by local tastemakers and known for delivering an energy like no other when invited to play sets at Splendour in the Grass, Strawberry Fields, Groovin’ The Moo, BIGSOUND, Volumes Festival and Output Festival.
The kinetic buzz is only going to multiply into twenty-eighteen. Standby for new music v soon – it’s going to be an emotional whirlwind.
