It may still be chilly outside but the festival announcements have been coming in steaming hot this week!

The Plot

WHERE: Parramatta Park, NSW
WHEN: 18 November 2017

Priding itself on uniting the best emerging artists from around the country, The Plot have unleashed a ripper list of cool up-and-comers for this November. Songwriting sweetheart Dean Lewis will be sharing the magic from his debut EP Same Kind Of Different and if you’re not crying enough already you can catch some soaring indie-folk ballads from Byron Bay’s Kyle Lionhart. If you’re looking for something with more guts make sure to see sleepmakeswaves as they smash out their latest post-rock masterpiece Made Of Breath Only.

A Weekend In The Gardens

WHERE: Royal Botanic Gardens, VIC
WHEN: 17 – 19 November 2017

Surround yourself with nature and gourmet food for a blissful weekend of diverse, Australian-led icons. Songwriting legend Paul Kelly is heading up the bill, sharing moments from his 23rd studio album Life Is Fine. Sharing the remaining top spots are Melbourne rapper ILLY and super songstress Missy Higgins. Also on the line up are some of the best up-and-coming artists such as NT rapper BIRDZ whose punchy, personal and political debut album is out now.

Spilt Milk

WHERE: Commonwealth Park, ACT

WHEN: 25 November 2017

Spilt Milk pack a lot into one day, always bringing the most dazzling, cutting edge music, art and food to a sunny afternoon. This year is no different, with a spiffy line up including Sydney’s EDM queen Alison Wonderland, the darling Dean Lewis and pop-hip-hop master Illy. Experience the freshest tunes as Lorde triumphs with newly released Melodrama, Bad//Dreems smash out their new album Gutful and the ever-beautiful Vance Joy comes back with his latest track ‘Lay It On Me’.

Fairgrounds Festival

WHERE: Berry, NSW
WHEN: 9 – 10 December 2017

Fairgrounds are kicking off the summer with a super sweet line up, including U.S. indie legends The Shins who’ll be sharing tunes from their 5th studio album Heartworms which dropped earlier this year. Joining the party are world-touring party starters Client Liason, iconic Aussie band You Am I and Castlemain’s most wanted D. D. Dumbo.

Meredith

WHERE: Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre, VIC
WHEN: 8 – 10 December 2017

This favourite summer escape promises plenty of timey-time and spacey-space for the massive line up it’s announced. Atmospheric rock angels Warpaint will be soaring over from Los Angeles to share their sweet snappy tunes from last year’s tasty album Heads Up. Also on the bill is prolific Aussie icon Mark Seymour (maybe you’ve heard of Hunters & Collectors?) ready to share a few decades of classics.

Beyond The Valley

WHERE: Lardner Park, VIC
WHEN: 28 December 2017 – 1 January 2018

For its fourth year the boutique New Years music festival is packed with talents including some of our favourite Aussies. The ever sparkling Jack River will hit the stage to perform tracks from her acclaimed debut EP Highway Songs No. 2 and latest shimmering single ‘Fools Gold‘. Along for the ride are Sydney favourites DMA’s and Brisbane boys The Belligerents whose debut album is dropping next month. Local songwriter Dean Lewis will be sharing his debut EP and Mura Masa will also be making the trek across from Guernsey to share his crisp debut with the Aussie crowd.

Falls Festival

Falls never lets us down and this New Years they’ve hooked us up with a whopper line up of uber cool local and international superstars. DZ Deathrays will be smashing the stage with their new single and Julia Jacklin will bring all the feels with the moody follow up track to last year’s acclaimed debut album. Alt pop master D. D. Dumbo, indie kids Methyl Ethyl, rock larrikins Bad//Dreems and floor-fillers Total Giovanni are just some of the Aussie talent set to get us grooving, whilst Jungle will be flying across to bring us a tasty dose of atmospheric funk.

Lost Paradise

WHERE: Glenworth Valley, VIC
WHEN: 28 – 31 December 2017

Make this NYE a big one with our favourite indie trio DMA’s who will finally be resting on home soil for a bit after countless international tours (maybe they’ll even have time for album #2). Girl-power goddess Jack River will light up the night with sparkling alt rock like her latest single ‘Fools Gold‘, Tiny Little Houses will be rocking out with their angst-anthem ‘Garbage Bin’, and Client Liaison and Dean Lewis will be paradise to your ears regardless of how early or late it is.
