“The east London duo’s sleek debut combines the best sounds from the past with state-of-the-art, sophisticated pop… It is eminently danceable, but not braindead. Funk bubbles away down below, but the lyrics are well worth tuning into.”

— The Guardian

HONNE, the east-London duo have toyed for a couple years now with the anticipation of their debut album, and finally, Warm On A Cold Night is here via their own label, Tatemae Records.

James (producer) and Andy (singer/producer) have been creating beats together ever since they met at university in Bow, London in 2014, bonding over their infatuation with Japanese culture. Even naming themselves HONNE, a Japanese word (本音) meaning ‘true feelings’.

Featuring stand-out tune with Izzy Bizu Somebody That Loves You, the record is a sweet mixture of synth-pop and electronic-soul and it’s often compared to English producer, James Blake, with crooning vocals over a deep bass. Can’t get enough of it.
