Dorsal Fins Win 2015 Mushroom Music Publishing Grant

Melbourne band Dorsal Fins have been awarded the 2015 Mushroom Music Publishing Grant.

The $10,000 prize, now in its third year, was established by Mushroom boss Michael Gudinski in 2013 to assist artists with costs associated with funding their own recordings. Inaugural winner Fraser A. Gorman released his debut album Slow Gum recently to rave reviews, with D.D Dumbo receiving last year’s grant.

Dorsal Fins, an indie-pop collective led by Liam McGorry, Ella Thompson and Jarrad Brown, released their debut album Mind Renovation in February, and will begin work on the follow-up with the assistance of the Mushroom Music Publishing Recording Grant later this year.
