Fresh off his latest collaborative EP with some of Aussie music’s hugest names, Dan Sultan has today released “Reaction” featuring the sleek and soulful vocals of Meg Mac. Following the release of “Drover” (feat. Gang of Youth’s front man Dave Le’aupepe), “Reaction” is the second single off forthcoming EP Killer Under a Blood Moon, a reworking of fan favourites off Sultan’s latest album.
A reinterpretation of the original guitar based pop track from Sultan’s third LP, Killer, “Reaction” is a dreamy slice of dance-floor pop. It has trademark Meg Mac sleekness, featuring her soulful, note perfect vocals to a backdrop of synthesised beats and airy guitars.
Unlike the other artists that feature on the EP who were already close mates of Sultan’s, Meg Mac had previously only crossed paths with the singer backstage and in airport lounges. It’s a fresh and original pairing that has produced an incredibly smooth and dreamy track, further confirming Meg’s standing as one of Australia’s strongest vocalists and Sultan’s versatility as a musician.
Performed and recorded live at Red Moon Studios with producer Jan Skubiszweski, Killer Under a Blood Moon is set for release May 18 via Liberation Records. Still to come are collabs with A.B Original, who Sultan has previously worked with on tune ‘January 26’, and Melbourne punk trio Camp Cope, who have leant their own flair to My Kingdom and Killer respectively.
