City Calm Down will hit the road for their first national headline tour this October, armed with new tunes from their debut album In a Restless House.
Hitting up venues in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane, City Calm Down will be previewing their three-years-in-the-making debut, released November 6 through I OH YOU (Violent Soho, DMA’s, DZ Deathrays).
The Melbourne group have today given fans another taste of the album, with the dramatic ‘Wandering’ premiered by Consequence of Sound – check out the video above. It follows first single ‘Rabbit Run’, which hit #2 on Hype Machine.
“We were trying to capture that awkward anxiety one feels when they believe they’re being misunderstood and disrespected, which inevitably leads to palpable frustration if not resolved,” the band explain of the ‘Wandering’ video.
“We felt that the contrast of a young boy singing the song, which features Jack’s [lead singer Jack Bourke] baritone vocal, would heighten that sense of unease, awkwardness and frustration expressed in the lyrics. We were a bit unsure as to whether that contrast would work, but Casey [who stars in the clip] delivered a pretty amazing performance… really, everything just hangs on his expression and the way he spits the words out.”
