This one’s pretty hard viewing. You’ll need to take a few heavy breathes once you’re done watching it. No hints, just watch it. After lunch.
‘Breathe In’ is the fourth single to be extracted from the Sydney 5-piece’s debut record Portraits of People, Places and Movies. Directed by Entropico, the clip is a lil fucked-up but the song itself is a tune. AUSTRALIA‘s sound perfectly toes the line between Aussie pub rock and new wave. Front man Guy Fenech’s melancholic howls are matched by his subtle baritone croon and layered with pulsating synths and angular guitars.
To celebrate the release of ‘Breathe In’, the guys are hitting the road this September and performing at BIGSOUND. In the spirit of their name, which conjures an echo of the 1980’s Australian Pub Rock scene, the band’s live show is raw and immediate, cheeky and charming – oscillating between indie rock and synth pop. Playing in some pretty intimate bandrooms, AUSTRALIA are worth checking out.
