Like a flavorsome melting pot of language and love, Phoenix have revealed the title track from their forthcoming third record Ti Amo – harmonious in English, Italian and French.
The band described the silky new synth-pop tune as “a romantic song about the tragedy of unreciprocated love and desire –
💘 100% lover – 0% violence 💘”
It follows the release of the French troupe’s shimmering first single ‘J-Boy’. Both tracks are lifted from Ti Amo, Phoenix’s first album since 2013’s super acclaimed Bankrupt!. Produced by the band and recorded at La Gaîté Lyrique (Paris) with the help of long-time collaborator Pierrick Devin, Ti Amo has been dubbed “the band’s most unabashedly romantic record yet.”
In their own words Ti Amo is “an album about simple pure emotions: love, desire, lust and innocence, it’s also a record about our European, Latin roots, a fantasized version of Italy: a lost paradise made of eternal Roman summers (hyper-light, hyper-clarity, pistachio gelato), juke-boxes on the beach, Monica Vitti and Marcello Mastroiani, fearless desire and Antique marble statues.”
The love, desire and lust for this new music is very real. You can pre-order Ti Amo now.
