I OH YOU’s Top 2016 Splendour Picks

It’s become somewhat of a tradition now, so we thought we’d ask Johann ‘Paddlin’ Ponniah who he’s psyched to see this weekend at Splendour In The Grass. You’ll find that he’s left I OH YOU signings Violent Soho, DMA’S, Green Buzzard, and City Calm Down and UK friend Låpsley, absent from the list. They’ll all be performing at the festival and disclaimer, they’re 100% unmissable. But here’s a neat guide to non-label related acts who are just as froth-worthy.

You can also catch I OH YOU shifting a bunch of limited edition tees at a cra$y good price from the boot of their car on Thursday. The exact car park location in Byron Bay is TBC, stayed updated here.

The Avalanches
Obviously.

At The Drive-In
Because Relationship of Command is still one of the greatest albums ever.

The Cure
Not sure I’ll last the full 3 hours to be honest but they’re mad.

Fat White Family
Have only heard amazing things about their live show, very keen to suss it. Their single ‘Whitest Boy On The Beach’ was one of my favourites last year.

Gold Class
Early wake up but well worth it. Amazing band from Melbourne.

Lucy Cliché
I’ve seen Lucy play three times now and every time she kills it. One of my favourites.

Sigur Rós
Because they’re amazing bruh.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard
One of my favourite Australian bands, live show is proper nuts.

Methyl Ethel
Have been seeing this band around a fair bit lately, they keep getting better and better. Heaps hyped to hear their new tunes.

Flume
Really do wanna see that live show.
