Karen Elson Announces New Album Ft. A Stack Of Collabs

English born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Karen Elson has announced she will share her highly anticipated second album Double Roses, this April, the follow-up to The Ghost Who Walks (2010).

Distant Shore‘ is the first incredibly gorgeous track to be revealed and features Laura Marling on backing vocals and Benmont Trench on piano.

Recorded in L.A at the world-renowned United Studios in Hollywood, Double Roses was produced by Jonathon Wilson (Jackson Browne, Father John Misty, Conor Oberst) and features collaborative powers from Pat Carney (The Black Keys), Father John Misty, Laura Marling, Benmont Tench, Pat Sansone (Wilco), Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes) and Dhani Harrison.

Taking the title Double Roses from a Sam Shepard poem, Elson says that after writing ‘Distant Shore‘ “the floodgates were open”. Detailing the emotional geography of her heart, the album sees the singer-songwriter discovering who she really is as a person and uncovering things she’d kept bottled up for years.

The album is out April 7, you can pre-order it now.
